Andrew Malloy

Mr Malloy has been a non-executive director of Pacific since its inception and is a Managing Director of the Massey Quick where he heads the Colorado office. As a member of the Investment Committee, he contributes to multiple aspects of the firm’s investment process and provides particular expertise in Alternative Investments, including hedge funds, commodity/currency and private equity.

Andrew has over 27 years of experience in alternative investments and wealth management. Most recently, he served as a Managing Principal of Boston-based Shepherd Kaplan LLC where he sat on the firm’s investment committee and made contributions in the following areas of the investment process: asset allocation, manager evaluation and due diligence—with a particular emphasis on the alternative asset classes, including hedge funds, funds of hedge funds, private equity, venture capital and real estate.

Before joining Shepherd Kaplan, Andrew was a founding investor and Director of Business Strategy & Development at WisdomTree Asset Management [“WTAM”]. WTAM developed the first family of fundamentally-weighted dividend and earnings indexes and ETFs. He assisted WTAM in its early financing and helped them understand the needs of the hedge fund and family office marketplace.

In 2002, Andrew co-founded Matrix Ascent Partners, a boutique hedge fund consulting and services firm. Previously, he served as a principal and shareholder at TAG Associates, Ltd for ten years. As TAG’s Chief Investment Officer and Senior Managing Director, Andrew oversaw the building and development of TAG’s portfolio and wealth management platform, the TAG Portfolio Management Group, and the creation of TAG’ Fund of Hedge Fund product, The TAG Relative Value Fund, LP. Andy was responsible for all aspects of the investment process, with particular emphasis on asset allocation and the evaluation and monitoring of hedge fund managers and alternative investment strategies. Earlier in his career, Andrew worked for Bear, Stearns & Co., McKinley Allsopp, Inc. and Oppenheimer & Co.

Andrew has been a frequent speaker at alternative investment conferences and is the author of several articles on alternative investment strategies and the wealth management process. He is on the Advisory Boards of several firms, including Circle Peak Capital LLC, VII Peaks Capital, the Hedge Fund Association and The Council of National Trustees of National Jewish Health, Denver, Colorado.

Andrew attended Villanova University and Harvard Business School’s Executive Education Program.
