Michael A. Tew
Mt Tew has served as a non executive member of our board of directors since March 2010. Since January 2010, Mr. Tew has served as the Director of Research for Ader Investment Management, an asset management firm. At Ader, he is responsible for analyzing investment opportunities in the consumer, real estate, financial services sectors.
In May 2008, Mr. Tew founded SPAC Research Partners LLC, an independent research and advisory boutique dedicated solely to blank check companies. During his tenure at SPAC Research Partners, Mr. Tew provided analytical research and advisory services for over 100 SPAC transactions to institutional investors and SPAC sponsor teams. He served as the firm’s Chief Executive Officer until January 2010.
In May 2007, Mr. Tew founded Sand Hill Research Partners, a Palo Alto-based independent research firm providing independent research to institutional investors, as well as working with institutional investors in venture-backed technology companies, and served as that companies Chief Executive Officer until May 2008.
In September 2003, Mr. Tew founded CapitalHQ, a private consulting firm, and served as its Chief Executive Officer until May 2007. From May 1999 to September 2003, Mr. Tew served as Vice President of Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc. During his tenure at Bear Stearns, Mr. Tew became the youngest Vice President in the firm’s history. He started his career as a consultant in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Hospitality and Leisure consulting group.
Mr. Tew holds a B.S. in Finance and International Business from New York University’s Stern School of Business. He has also studied at Groupe HEC (Paris), SDA Bocconi (Milan), and Wirtschaftsuniversitat (Vienna) and is an Executive MBA candidate at New York University’s Stern School of Business.
