Ruari McGirr
Mr. McGirr is currently the CEO of St Helens Capital. His first role after leaving the University of Kent was with KPMG in 1988 where qualified as a chartered accountant KPMG and immediately moved into corporate finance, focusing private equity and M&A transactions.
In 1995 moved to Granville Davies doing small company corporate broking, across a range of sectors on companies up to £250m mkt cap (Select Recruitment Group) before moving on to Dresdner Kleinwort Benson in 1996 doing corporate broking and small cap corporate finance. Significant transactions in the period included the merger of Scottish Hydro Electric and Southern Electric, the float of ITNET (now part of Serco).
In 1999 joined Brown Shipley in corporate finance, amongst other deals bringing in what was then the biggest IPO ever on AIM. Joined Daniel Stewart in 2002 after a year out when it was focused on PLUS and off market transactions and was part of the core team that grew it over three years into a significant player in the London small-cap market before leading the team that took a controlling interest in St Helens Capital in an agreed and friendly deal in order to grow the PLUS markets advisor into a significant player in the London small and mid cap sector on or off market.
